What brand of tools do you use?

Im trying to make a tool box full of tools for the hvac trade. i am in vocational school for it now and i do plan to do hvac for a career.

I think that Klein makes the best hand tools. Take notice of the tools that I keep in my tool pouch. I always carry my tool pouch and my meter to troubleshoot a system.

    Hey Dr Z.
Thanks for all your videos. Ive watched them all more than once. How much do you think it will cost for tools and gages pumps ex. for someone just starting out.

  8. DrZarkloff says:

You could easily spend about $2000 dollars U.S. in getting the basics.

Thanks for this. I’m going to college in a year. Getting into this business.

Hey Dr Z! Thanks for all the videos. I’m just getting started in the field and I was wondering why you have both a vacuum pump and recovery system? Don’t they both do the same thing?

  11. DrZarkloff says:

I wish you all the best.

  12. DrZarkloff says:

The recovery system is used to recover the refrigerant from the system. The vacuum pump is used to bring the system into a deep vacuum to boil off any moisture and remove noncondensibles.

  13. sequestre says:

Hmm, I was thinking that a good recovery unit could do both jobs. Thanks for clearing that up for me. What is your opinion of the CPS CR700? I’m looking at one of these, hardly used for a very good price.

  14. sequestre says:

Thanks, I’m going for my EPA 608 exam in a few weeks. I’m pretty green, but hey, you gotta start somewhere……:)

Hello, I hope to be making a video about Fujitsu mini-splits in the near future.

  18. DrZarkloff says:

It looks like a pretty nice little unit. CPS makes some great stuff.

say bye bye to R22 systems on January
    1st 2010

  20. DrZarkloff says:

They’re already getting hard to buy.

  21. Gitrdone365 says:

Yep i have already been experiencing that problem
2020 is the date that you will not be able to purchase R22 anymore so that means lots of money out for grabs for the HVAC market but there always is anyways

  22. erd675 says:

sum techs ive worked with use that cordless saw and end up not finishing the job because it ran out right in middle of it.i agree use the cord type its less irritating.

  23. DrZarkloff says:

Thanks. My foreman asked me if I’d rather have a cordless saw. I told him to give it to someone else. I was happy with my corded saw.

  24. shsmustangs says:

Great video, all service trucks look messy lol. With the companies ive been with all have been the same lol. Im still trying to find a HVAC job out here in Cleveland, but the market sucks. Whats the going rate for 22 now? Most systems ive dealt with have 134A

  25. DrZarkloff says:

The going rate for R22 is about $180 for a 30 pound jug. I wish you all the best in this suck economy.
